Around 20 million people watched Ann Romney’s speech – 7 million saw racist Juan Williams on Fox News
Fox News crushed every news outlet last night, including the dinosaur alphabet networks ABC, CBS, NBC. Fox News alone had around 7 million viewers for the 7pm Pacific/10pm Eastern time slot featuring Ann Romney and Chris Christie’s speech. It also featured Juan Williams’ racist and sexist crack ‘corporate wife’ about Ann Romney. If you add up the total viewers from all the cable networks, and television dinosaur networks, around 20 million people saw Ann Romney’s fabulous speech.
Compared to night one of the RNC in 2008, Fox News, NBC and CBS were up slightly, while ABC, CNN and MSNBC were down. Fox News also topped the broadcasters for the first night of coverage four years ago. Overall viewership appears to be about the same as 2008.
