Sign of the day (and of the times) – Chicago teacher can’t even spell neighborhood right

democrat-baby-logo79% of 8th graders in Chicago can’t even read. I’m willing to bet they aren’t very good at spelling or math either. Check out a sign from a Chicago teacher protesting on Day 1 of the CTU strike:

Kelly HS: Teachers support the CTU because the CTU believes in NEIBORHOOD schools.

Is it any surprise that only 1 in 5 Chicago government school eighth graders can read at grade-level. I don’t have a education degree but in every school that I attended, 20% is a failing grade. BTW, that 16% raise they turned down would bump avg pay to $88K/yr. Are you ready for six-figure public school teachers who can’t do their jobs?

Yes, he should have been able to spell a relatively simple word.

But, if he were a math teacher – most of them are notoriously bad spellers.

Spell? What the hell does spelling have to do with being a teacher in Chicago? As long as he votes Democrat…..
