Jesse Jackson Jr. being investigated for allegedly misusing campaign funds to redecorate his home
You’ve really gotta love the Chicago values of politicians. Jesse Jackson Jr. hasn’t been doing his job for months representing a district in Chicago. The excuses being given have been anything from depression to fatigue. But now Jesse Jackson’s little boy is under investigation for allegedly misusing campaign funds to redecorate his house. This is Chicago values.
Federal authorities have launched an investigation into whether Illinois Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. misused campaign funds to redecorate his home, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Jackson’s lawyers met with federal prosecutors last week to try to dissuade them from seeking an indictment prior to the November election. Federal officials were able to make no such promise.
This probe is unrelated to an earlier investigation of allegations that Jackson tried to cut a deal with former Illinois Gov. Rob Blagojevich for the open Senate seat once held by Barack Obama. That case is currently under review by the House Ethics Committee.
