Mitt Romney within five in Minnesota and just 0.5% off the margin of error

mitt-romney-paul-ryan-2012-logoMinnesota is the state of Al Franken, Walter Mondale and Jesse Ventura. The state hasn’t voted Republican for president in 40 years! (1972). Yet Mitt Romney is within five point of Obama. The margin for error in this poll is 4.5%. This means Minnesota is moving towards toss-up status. We’ll see if any of the campaigns use any resources there. I’m also skeptical of a state that hasn’t voted Republican in 40 years, and has elected far left loons like Mondale and Franken. The Democrat turnout in the 2008 Obama wave was only D+4.

A new telephone survey of Likely Minnesota Voters finds Barack Obama with 51% support to 46% for Mitt Romney. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, while another one percent (1%) is undecided.
