Tim Scott to replace Jim Demint as Senator after he steps down next month?

tim_scottNow wouldn’t this be ironic. If Nikki Haley picks Tim Scott to replace Jim Demint when he vacates  his Senate seat next month, the Senate would have just one black Senator. Guess which party he would represent? Yea, the Republicans. I like Tim Scott. I don’t find him to be much of a RINO like Lindsey Graham. I don’t know if he is as conservative as DeMint, but I don’t think you could go wrong with Tim Scott. Imagine the leftist Democrats and media hacks attack on the only black Senator in the United States. This would actually be quite delicious. I like the idea.

Tim Scott, an African-American Republican member of Congress from South Carolina, is already garnering buzz as a possible replacement for Jim DeMint, who announced his resignation from the U.S. Senate on Thursday.

DeMint said Thursday that he is leaving the Senate in January to take over at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington D.C.

Under state law, South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley will appoint a replacement until a special election is held in 2014.
