Hypocrite! Gabby Giffords husband Mark Kelly buys AR-15 (which he called ‘assault weapon’)

barrelofgunIt’s amazing what hypocrites so called anti second amendment gun activists are. Gabby Giffords herself was photographed shooting an ‘assault weapon’ before the 2010 election to try and gain ‘street cred’ in her district for that election which is pro second amendment. Since being shot in the head by a nut job, she’s become very anti-gun, which I can obviously understand, going through what she had to. But her husband, Mark Kelly is a different bag all together. Kelly is also riding the anti-second amendment train, probably profiting off it from left wing anti-second amendment groups. Recently, Mark Kelly called an AR-15 an ‘assault weapon.’ Yet Breitbart has revealed that Kelly recently purchased an AR-15 AND a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, Arizona. Don’t worry though, Kelly says he doesn’t plan to keep the AR-15 (uh huh.) Here’s a picture of the hypocrite Mark Kelly actually paying for the AR-15. Mark Kelly is a cheap attention whore and this is likely to pardon the expression back’fire’ in his face. If Kelly in fact acted as a ‘straw purchaser’ then he would have committed a felony.

Various sources contacted Breitbart News once Kelly made the purchase, and after we began investigating the details surrounding the purchase, Kelly announced on his Facebook that he was not going to keep the AR-15, which he has yet to pick up from the store.

Days after making the purchases, Kelly wrote on Facebook:

I just had a background check a few days ago when I went to my local gun store to buy a .45. As I was leaving, I noticed a used AR-15. Bought that too. Even to buy an assault weapon, the background check only takes a matter of minutes. I don’t have possession of it yet but I’ll be turning it over to the Tucson PD when I do.

    Straw purchase? So if Mark Kelly bought the AR15 with the intent of
    giving it to the Tuscon police doesn’t that qualify as a straw purchase
    and isn’t that illegal?

        purchasing a weapon for someone else that would not be considered a “gift”. mostly done for people not able to buy a weapon on their own.

        A straw purchase is buying a firearm for someone else who is unable or unwilling to go through the required process to aquire a firearm.

        It is NOT considered a “straw purchase” if the person/agency you “give” the gun to, is qualified under law to possess the gun you are giving them. Therefore, if he buys the gun and “gives” it to the local police for their use, or destruction, then it’s NOT a “straw purchase”.

    Didn’t some dirty, low down gun owner put a halt to the shooting spree in which Giffords was involved in? They should have put that guy in jail for helping our the useless cops. Maybe a good way to put an end to all this crap about weapons is to attach an amendment to all gun bills to make the police liable for injury to the public by criminals. That would shift the discussion.

    I spent $1800-2000 for a gun, and I turn it in to the police dept for $100. No wonder we have problems balancing the budget with math like that.

    So, he bought it with the intent of turning it over to the police? How stupid does he think we are? He purchased the weapon because, just like everyone else, he wants one before they are made illegal. Since he got busted be a hypocrite, he posted on Facebook that he is turning it in. Hey Mark, keep it! You may need it when sporting rifles are outlawed and only the criminals have them.
