Oklahoma Question 711 (banning same-sex marriage) past with nearly 76% of vote in 2004

Oklahoma Question 711Oklahoma Question 711 was in 2004 was a state amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution that defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman. The vote in 2004 past with over a million yes votes, and nearly 76% of the total vote. The text of the amendment read:

(a.) Marriage in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman. Neither this Constitution nor any other provision of law shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups.
(b.) A marriage between persons of the same gender performed in another state shall not be recognized as valid and binding in this state as of the date of the marriage.
(c.) Any person knowingly issuing a marriage license in violation of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.[3]

Despite the will of the people of Oklahoma, and despite over a 3-1 vote in favor of the Oklahoma Constitution amendment, one activist judge named Terence C. Kern over-turned the law. Kerns a BJ Bill Clinton appointee.

I guess the new Oklahoma Question 711 should do your votes count for anything anymore?
