North Carolina’s 7th congressional district likely to go Republican for first time since 1871

With the North Carolina primary elections complete, North Carolina’s seventh congressional district is set to make history this November. The GOP primary winner for NC07 was David Rouzer who won the primary with over 52% is widely expected to win this fall. Even Larry Sabato with his ‘crystal ball’ has moved this race from Likely Republican to Safe Republican after the primary. Assuming nothing dramatic happens to Rouzer to change the direction of the race, he is set to become the first Republican to win North Carolina’s district 7 since 1871, right after the Civil War.
