Democrat turnout in Kentucky Gov. primary plunges

Even though Kentucky is generally a red state in presidential elections, Kentucky is Democrat for all state issues. Kentucky has had just one Republican governor since 1948. There are more registered Democrats in Kentucky than there are Democrats. Or at least there used to be. Democrat turnout in governor election primaries has really plunged in recent years.

Check out the GOP and Democrat voter turnout for the governor primary elections since 1999. The first column is GOP turnout, the second is Democrat.

Democrats still hold a huge vote registration advantage in Kentucky, but even that is losing ground to GOP registration:

Ernie Fletcher has been the only GOP governor in Kentucky since 1948. He was governor for four years 2003-2007.

Matt Bevin won the GOP primary in Kentucky last night by just 83 votes. Assuming Bevin is the GOP candidate after all the legal challenges that are likely to come from James Comer, he will face far left Democrat Jack Conway. Remember him when he ran against Rand Paul for Senate in 2010? The create of the Aqua-Buddha ad? Jack Conway is slimy like John Edwards. He got 140,627 votes last night. Both Bevin and Comer got more than that combined, with two other GOP candidates receiving at least another 70,000 combined.

Good luck there Aqua Buddah Jack Conway! LOL.
