David Reddick Alabama Democrat arrested for harassment over Confederate flag

David Reddick who is a Democrat Anniston city council member in Alabama was arrested for harassment over Confederate flag. The flag was hanging at a barbershop, people around the shop were minding their own business until Democrat Anniston city council member David Reddick showed up a few weeks ago. Reddick ‘allegedly’ appeared to be warning Ford (barbershop owner) that city officials would force him to remove a Confederate flag that waves in front of Ford’s business if Ford didn’t take it down himself. Basically David Reddick did what all Democrats do. Threaten people with the power of the government if they don’t do something they want. David Reddick, like all progressive liberal Democrats tried to claim everything was just a ‘misunderstanding.’ Yea, ok.

The arrest apparently stems from an incident a few weeks ago in which Reddick and Ford had a conversation at Ford’s Barbershop on Bynum-Leatherwood Road. At the time, witnesses told Fox6 News via email and Facebook, Reddick appeared to be warning Ford that city officials would force him to remove a Confederate flag that waves in front of Ford’s business if Ford didn’t take it down himself.

Reddick, however, told Fox6 News at the time, “it was all a big misunderstanding,” and said he was trying to gain support to kill a proposed upgrade in the city’s nuisance abatement law. Reddick has repeatedly criticized that proposed ordinance as being too broad and far reaching, and claimed he was trying to make that point to Ford.

At the time the conversation was taking place, city council members were considering that nuisance ordinance as well as a resolution that would ban the Confederate flag from city property. The Confederate flag resolution eventually passed and the nuisance ordinance is still being considered. The flag in front of Milton Ford’s barbershop is by all accounts on Ford’s private property.

Upon his arrest Thursday, Reddick referred Fox6 News to his attorney, Donald Stewart of Anniston. Stewart has not yet returned our calls.
