ACORN got $200,000 in Justice Department funds
According to The Hill, ACORN and its affiliates received $200,000 in Justice Department grants between 2002 and 2009, according to a report issued Friday by the department’s inspector general. No DOJ grants went directly to ACORN, but a handful of grants were awarded either to ACORN affiliates or to other organizations that sub-contracted projects to ACORN.

Corrupt as they can be, ACORN now actually has the audacity to sue over the House of Representatives barring Acorn from receiving federal aid. The claim? That the House of Representatives “violated the Constitution” by singling the antipoverty group out for punishment, lawyers for Acorn filed a lawsuit on Thursday that seeks to restore the financing, according to the New York Times.

ACORN in Philadelphia, Katherine Conway Russell and Media Matters exposed!

O’Keefe is heard mentioning he doesn’t “want to get in trouble with authorities,” and he mentions individuals will be frequently coming in and out of the building they hoped to secure, an apparent reference to the purported prostitution business to operate there. Surely the creators of South Park and the character “Butters” from South Park are either racists or right wing extremists now. ACORN’s CEO Bertha Lewis plays the race card
No real surprise here, maybe the only surprise is that Bertha Lewis waiting this long to actually cry racism. On Tuesday, ACORN’s CEO Bertha Lewis charged that accusations about ACORN are racist, alleging that a coordinated political effort started by former Bush adviser Karl Rove sought to stop the group from registering minority voters, according to an article in the Washington Times.

Turns out Rathke didn’t embezzle just $1 million from ACORN, instead it was $5 million!
No wonder ACORN still wouldn’t open up the books. According to NOLA, an internal review by the board of directors of ACORN determined that the amount allegedly embezzled from the community organization was $5 million, not $1 million which was originally reported months ago, according to a new subpoena in an investigation by Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell. On Tuesday, Oct 6th, Caldwell has served ACORN 2nd Subpoena.
