Maybe the drugged out progressive liberal thug simply didn’t realize who Charlie Rangel was. He’s really one of their leaders! Now all they need is Barney Frank to show up.

Rangel said he was simply doing the neighborly thing by welcoming the Republican presidential candidate to his locality. But a statement released by Rangel on Monday night did away with bipartisan pleasantries after the first sentence.

“As a courtesy, I stopped by Inwood to welcome Governor Rick Perry to the most beautiful congressional district in our nation,” Rangel said. “However, the Governor’s visit ironically came on the very same day that my constituents heard President Obama’s speech earlier today on getting America back to work. The President has made it clear that he would veto any bill that would change benefits for those who rely on Medicare but does not raise serious revenues by asking millionaires and billionaires or biggest corporations to pay their fair share.”

Before this corrupt pile of sh*t worries about others paying their “fair share” wouldn’t it be nice if he actually paid HIS OWN taxes? Gotta love corrupt Democrat/Progressive history. Who will stalk Perry next? Tim Geither?

“What would Jesus do this weekend? Or Moses. Or Allah. Or anyone else,” the New York congressman said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. “I don’t want this book (debt negotiations) closed without the clergy having an opportunity to forcefully express themselves as well as I know they can do.”

Lawmakers such as Charlie Rangel are not allowed to use money in their individual campaign funds to pay for their own legal fees. Maybe chuckles just forget about this like he forgot to pay all those taxes for all those years. Nancy Pelosi’s swamp is still clogged 4 years later.

See if you could notice a pattern with most of the no voters. *cough* Congressional Black Caucus *cough* There were a few surprise yes votes, at least a surprise to me. These included far left congresspeople: Dennis Kucinich, Chris Van Hollen, David Obey, Jan Schakowsky and George Miller.

You thought that was it? Nope. Rangel followed the censure up with a snotty, arrogant speech, then got a standing ovation from Democrats. Absolutely pathetic!

Rangel will ask the House ethics committee chairman, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., for time to plead his case on the floor of the House, where he has served for 40 years, including a stint as chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.

Blake Chisam is the ethics-committee lawyer who is serving as prosecutor for Rangel’s disciplinary proceedings. Chisam is also the one who earlier in the week said Charlie Rangel was just “sloppy” in his personal finances and said there was no evidence of corruption by Rangel.

“How can anyone have confidence in the decision of the ethics subcommittee when I was deprived of due process rights, right to counsel and was not even in the room?” Rangel said. “I can only hope that the full committee will treat me more fairly, and take into account my entire 40 years of service to the Congress before making any decisions on sanction.”

Later, in an official statement, Rangel slammed the ethics subcommittee’s “unprecedented” decision, saying his due process rights were violated because the panel ruled without him having legal representation.

“How can anyone have confidence in the decision of the ethics subcommittee when I was deprived of due process rights, right to counsel and was not even in the room?” Rangel said. “I can only hope that the full committee will treat me more fairly, and take into account my entire 40 years of service to the Congress before making any decisions on sanction.”

“It’s hard to answer the question of personal financial benefit,” Chisam added. ” I think the short answer is probably no. Do I believe that based on the record that Congressman Rangel took steps to benefit himself based on his position in Congress? No. I believe that the congressman, quite frankly, was overzealous in many of the things he did. And sloppy in his personal finances.”

Two legal experts told The Post such spending is against House rules.

“It’s a breach of congressional ethics,” one campaign-finance lawyer said.

Washington, DC, political lawyer Cleta Mitchell said there is “no authority for a member to use leadership PAC funds as a slush fund to pay for personal or official expenses.”

Leadership PACs are typically used by politicians to donate money to other candidates.

The announcement by Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., who chairs the ethics panel, rejects a request by Republicans on the panel, who last week called for the public trials to be held before Nov. 2.

In her statement, Lofgren said the Republican request — rare for a committee that operates in secret and typically issues bipartisan statements — stood in contrast to “numerous” private negotiations between Republicans and Democrats to “reach consensus on how and when to proceed.”

The biggest name in the race is Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell IV, whose father was a political superstar in that area. Mr. Powell, however, has done little in Albany, even by Albany’s do-little standards. He has shown no reason for voters to promote him.

There are four other choices: Vince Morgan, a community banker and former Rangel aide; Jonathan Tasini, a perennial liberal candidate; Ruben Vargas, another campaign regular; and Joyce Johnson, a former chief executive and educator. The best of these alternatives is Joyce Johnson, who, while struggling in the primary, has been a strong advocate for women’s rights and civil rights for many years.
