I’m not one of them. But I must give credit where credit is due. Catching up with White House senior adviser David Axelrod today Tapper had a nice little chat about the current controversy about the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and whether any of its ads are being funded with foreign money. Nobody seems to care or ask where all the money is coming from that unions use like the SEIU, AFL-CIO that back Democrats. No one ever brings up the fact that all those donations to the George Soros organizations and blogs like Moveon or Center for America progress are coming from. So Tapper laid into Axelrod today about this whole so called “controversy.”

TAPPER: But you’re asking the Chamber to prove a negative. “Prove that you’re not doing such and such accusation.”

AXELROD: It’s not proving a negative, Jake, because all you have to do to clear up the questions is reveal who your donors are from. The question back to them is why don’t they want to reveal where their money is coming from? I think the answer is, I think if the American people knew where their money was coming from they’d be a lot less apt to listen to the advertising, to read the mail, to respond to the kind of negative campaigns that the Chamber and some of these other organizations are underwriting.

Tapper undoubtably angered the progressive liberal Democrats today. Some of which will probably start calling him a birther after this question:

TAPPER: Isn’t that like the whackjobs that tell the president he needs to show them his full long-form birth certificate so he can put to rest the questions that have been raised?

AXELROD: The president’s birth certificate has been available to people.

TAPPER: The long form?

AXELROD: Someone once in the course of this debate about whether we should have a law to force these organizations to disclose where they’re money is coming from in the campaigns, someone said, and I think they’re right – “the only people who want to keep things secret are folks who have something to hide.” If the Chamber doesn’t have anything to hide about these contributions, and I take them at their word that they don’t, then why not disclose? Why not let people see where their money is coming from?

Axelrod said on Fox News Sunday that Obama has taken as strict an approach to the issue as any other president.

“No administration has been tougher on enforcement,” Axelrod said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We have more manpower there than ever before- more equipment drones, helicopters, airplanes. We’re doing this in a smart, more efficient way and we’re producing better results.”

Host Chris Wallace then said “there were some facts and figures that contradict what” Axelrod had said. However, when interviewing Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz) moments later on the same show, Wallace took a different tack. “The fact is that the Obama White House does have a story to tell…Hasn’t this president improved border security?” the Fox host said to Kyl.

“There have been improvements,” Kyl conceded. “There have been additional people sent to the border. Nobody would deny that. There is a federal government effort going on here but it’s not enough.…The fact that you’ve done more doesn’t mean that you’ve done enough.”

Hearing about it from a closed door meeting isn’t as entertaining as actually being able to watch a video, but is still hilarious. Take the latest problem where nut job Al Franken ripped into David Axelrod. POLITICO reports that Franken criticized Axelrod for the administration’s failure to provide clarity or direction on health care and the other big bills it wants Congress to enact.

The sources said Franken was the most outspoken senator in the meeting, which followed President Barack Obama’s question-and-answer session with Senate Democrats at the Newseum on Wednesday. But they also said the Minnesotan wasn’t the only angry Democrat in the room.

“There was a lot of frustration in there,” said a Democratic senator who declined to be identified.

“People were hot,” another Democratic senator said.

Democratic senators are frustrated that the White House hasn’t done more to win over the public on health care reform and other aspects of its ambitious agenda — and angry that, in the wake of Scott Brown’s win in the Massachusetts Senate race, the White House hasn’t done more to chart a course for getting a health care bill to the president’s desk.

In his public session with the senators Wednesday, Obama urged them to “finish the job” on health care but did not lay out a path for doing so. That uncertainty appeared to trigger Franken’s anger, and the sources in the room said he laid out his concerns much more directly than any senator did in the earlier public session.

The private session was set up in a panel format, with Axelrod joined at the front of the room by Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and Democratic strategist Paul Begala.

A Democratic source said that Franken directed his criticism solely at Axelrod.

David Axelrod confirmed it today on CNN’s “State of the Union”. Axelrod says Obama will work with congressional Democrats to remove the abortion funding ban the House approved in its version of the government-run health care bill, according to LifeNews.

“The president has said repeatedly, and he said in his speech to Congress, that he doesn’t believe that this bill should change the status quo as it relates to the issue of abortion,” Axelrod said today on CNN’s State of the Union program.

“This shouldn’t be a debate about abortion. And he’s going to work with Senate and the House to try and ensure that at the end of the day, the status quo is not changed,” he added. “I believe that there are discussions ongoing to how to adjust it accordingly.”

Axelrod said that an agreement with ruling Democrats in Congress to remove the ban on taxpayer funding of abortions “can and will be worked through before it reaches his desk.”

Townhall.com has some interesting new information regarding the Axelrod/Obama/Govdelivery spamgate story that still has been absent from the state run medi.a What they all had in common, though, was that they had each emailed their Democrat representatives…within a week of getting the Axelrod email. Heres more from Townhall:

Could there have been an unspoken/unofficial effort by the Democrat party asking its elected members to forward all constituent correspondence on health care to a centralized DC location….like, say, the “flag” snitch address? Perhaps that’s how these email lists were compiled.

Two callers in particular supported this theory. One gentleman told me he’d emailed Rep. Melissa Bean (D-Ill.) to register opposition to the House health care bill. He received an email response from Bean’s office the next day (entirely appropriate), followed by the Axelrod email a few days later. Another caller said she’d contacted Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s (D-Mich.) office for a similar reason. She, too, heard first from Stabenow’s staff, then from Axelrod. Again, neither caller had ever been in touch with the White House.

The suggestion I raised above merits further scrutiny. Could the aforementioned “outside groups” include the political offices of elected Democrats? It stands to reason: If the White House set up a (now defunct) email account asking average Americans to inform on one another regarding health care “misinformation,” wouldn’t constituent correspondence sent directly to elected representatives serve as a natural gold mine for culling opponents’ arguments against the president’s plan? One wonders if certain Democratic members chose to pass along this information on their own initiative, or if they were responding to encouragement (read: following orders) from the White House to do so.

The admittance of this was given to FOX NEWS. Of course i’m sure liberals can spin this as some sort of right-wing conspiracy or Bush did it. The White House hired a private communications company based in Minnesota to distribute mass e-mails, helping to shed light on how some recipients received e-mails from David Axelrod in support of President Obama’s health care plan without signing up for them, FOX News has learned:

The company, Govdelivery, describes itself as the world’s leading provider of government-to-citizen communication solutions and says its e-mail service provides a fully-automated on-demand public communication system.

It is still unknown how much taxpayer money the White House provides to Govdelivery for its services.

Click here to view Govdelivery’s Web site.

The revelation comes after the White House acknowledged this week that people were receiving unsolicited e-mails from the administration about health care reform and suggested the problem was with third-party groups that placed the recipients’ names on the distribution list.

Republicans quickly pounced on the news.

“This is yet another ominous chapter in the administration’s rabid campaign to jam its radical health care scheme onto an unwilling public by any means necessary,” Rep. Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan said in a statement.

Govdelivery sent hundreds of e-mails from senior adviser David Axelrod asking supporters to help rebut criticism of Obama’s health care plan circulating on the Internet. It also sent e-mails highlighting Obama’s speech to the Muslim world in Cairo and the announcement of Sonia Sotomayor as a Supreme Court nominee.

Several FOX News viewers complained they received these e-mails even though they had never requested any communication from the White House.

Here’s the written statement released exclusively to FOX News, by White House spokesman Nick Shapiro:

“The White House e-mail list is made up of e-mail addresses obtained solely through the White House Web site. The White House doesn’t purchase, upload or merge from any other list, again, all e-mails come from the White House Web site as we have no interest in e-mailing anyone who does not want to receive an e-mail,” the statement said. “If an individual received the e-mail because someone else or a group signed them up or forwarded the e-mail, we hope they were not too inconvenienced.”
