George W. Bush job approval rating now higher than Obama’s on Gallup

When dubya left office in 2009, his approval ratings on Gallup stood at a pathetic 34%. The kool-aide drinking public thought Obama was their savior, he would walk on water, and fix the economy with his progressive liberal class warfare policies. Fast forward to the end of 2010 and now George W. Bush is more popular than Obama. As painful as it must have been for Politico to post this story (and frankly i’m surprised they did), George W. Bush’s job approval rating as president is up to 47%, while Obama’s stood at 46% at the time the poll was taken. While a 47% approval rating isn’t exactly at the levels of John F. Kennedy or Ronald Reagan’s numbers, it still shows a 13 point increase in just under two years, and how much people are starting to realize what a mistake they made by voting for Obama. Only someone as pathetic as Obama could have helped Bush’s numbers jump so far in such a short period of time.

This is the first time Gallup asked Americans to retrospectively rate Bush’s job performance. And it was a stunning turnaround from his low point of 25 percent in November 2008. The 47 percent number is 13 points higher than the last Gallup poll taken before Bush left office in 2009 and the highest rating for him since before Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Last year people would faint at the mere sight of Obama. Now people either fall asleep are start fuming. Today’s prime example is from Martha’s Vineyard where yet again the Obamas are off on vacation. Last year, when this country was still in a daze from the Obama/Media driven kool-aide the hottest selling item at Martha’s Vineyard when Obama vacationed there was:

However today, according to the Boston Globe, the hottest selling item are T-shirts of former President George W. Bush asking,

Irony, thy name is libtard! When you have far left wing nut jobs like Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, Peter Beinart of the Daily Beast (whatever that is), and Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post begging the “devil”, George W. Bush to save Obama’s “bacon” on the Ground Zero Mosque issue, you know Obama is in deep Shiite. Byron York of the Washington Examiner writes, that the same commentators who long argued that Bush had done grievous harm to America’s image in the Muslim world suddenly want Dubya’s help on a matter involving “The Muslim World.”

First, there’s New York Times hack Maureen Dowd:

“It’s time for W. to weigh in,”
“W. needs to get his bullhorn back out”

Next there’s Washington Post race hustler and columnist Eugene Robinson:

“I…would love to hear from former President Bush on this issue,” “He held Ramadan iftar dinners in the White House as part of a much broader effort to show that our fight against the al-Qaeda murderers who attacked us on 9/11 was not a crusade against Islam. He was absolutely right on this point, and it would be helpful to hear his views.”

WTF did I just read? Bush was right on something? My eyes decieve me!

Lastly, there’s some hack named Peter Beinart, who writes for some blog called the Daily Beast, which I haven’t even heard of before.

Whatever his flaws, the man respected religion, all religion.”

Wait, since when do left wing nut jobs ever respect religion? Are we talking about the same ideology that wants to ban the term Merry Christmas, take the phrase “In God We Trust” off our currency, etc? Oh wait, they respect Islam as a religion only.

A bit of good news. Jeb Bush doesn’t plan to run for senate in 2010.

At least as of today. Thank god for little favors. NO MORE BUSHES PLEASE! The St. Petersburg Times heard rumblings this morning, and now here’s the quake.

Nothing’s easy anymore.

While I will always have more than fond memories of my years in public office and was humbled by the outpouring of support I received over the last few weeks, now is not my time to be running for office. To sum it up, in the words of Dr. Stephen Covey, I have decided to put “First Things First”.

I will continue to stay involved in the advocacy of a vibrant, growing Republican Party and with it, 21st Century conservative solutions to the challenges we face.

Not quite a shoe-thrower, but much worse. A Bush-deranged bomber in Aspen, Colorado, killed himself in a botched bank robbery/mass murder attempt. The profanity-laced suicide note is here. Well, I hope its the last. Theres still almost 3 weeks to go before Hussein takes over. After he officially becomes president, what will happen to all those liberals who blame every last global problem and economic inequity on dubya, Rove, and Cheney? Once something happens after the 20th, is it still dubya’s fault? Via RMN:

A one-time resident of this city who had been bitter over its transformation into a playground for the rich left four gift-wrapped bombs downtown in a bank-robbery attempt, turning New Year’s Eve celebrations into a mass evacuation, police said Thursday.

The dangerous bombs were made of gasoline and cell phone parts and came with notes warning of “mass death.” The 72-year-old man suspected of placing them in two banks and in an alleyway on Wednesday shot and killed himself a short time later, police said.

The body of James Chester Blanning, who grew up in Aspen and lived in Denver since 2003, was found Thursday, police said.

Blanning walked into two Aspen banks about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and left packages wrapped in holiday paper along with notes saying the boxes contained bombs, police said. The notes threatened “mass death,” demanded $60,000 cash and included criticisms of President George W. Bush, Assistant Aspen Police Chief Bill Linn said at a news conference.

Blanning’s notes said he was targeting four banks, police said, but only two — a Wells Fargo Bank and a nearby Vectra Bank — received the packages.

See-Dubya’s New Year’s Resolutions

Well not the real dubya. He’s too busy vacationing in Texas (when he is going to be perm vacation in less than 3 weeks), its actually see-dubya’s resolutions:

1. I will find a church that is doctrinally sound and where I feel the Spirit dwells and works.

2. I will stop referring to the President-Elect as “Senator Don No-Soul Simmons“.

3. I will continue to tell military people I meet that I’m grateful for their service. I know Vietnam vets who came home to obscurity and ignominy. I’m not going to let that happen to today’s soldiers, at least the ones I meet. I just sent off a care package to my friend ‘Old Shootin’ Buddy’, deployed overseas in the Middle East–but I’l lbe sending more.

4.. I will support conservative think-tanks and conservative intellectuals. I can’t be George Soros but I can help out and keep some of them in the black, and right now I need to.

My own personal favorite is the Claremont Institute, which is a think-tank devoted to political philosophy and especially to the vision of the Founding Fathers. That might sound a little vague or finky, but I’ve been there and visited with them and these guys are the real thing. If you have a conservative family member with intellectual pretensions, or actual intellectual interests, you can order them a copy of The Claremont Review of Books, the Right’s best rejoinder to the New York Times Book Review. Good reading.

And money? For something you wrote? I guarantee you most bloggers, especially the smaller ones, will remember that sort of validation until they die.

Are we going to be subject to 4 years of Obama porn in addition to the liberal biased MSM defending everything the filthy marxist pig Hussein Obama does? On Christmas Day, the Washington Post delivered a front-page paean to Barack Obama’s workout habits. The 1,233-word ode to O’s physical fitness read more like a Harlequin romance novel than an A-1 news article. Sighed smitten reporter Eli Zaslow: “The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games.” Drool cup to the newsroom, stat. This is the SAME Washington Post writer in which then writer Jonathan Chait famously attacked Bush three years ago in an opinion piece for the Los Angeles Times headlined, “The (over)exercise of power.” Recounting how President Bush ran 3 1/2 miles a day and preached more cross-training to a federal judge, Chait fumed: “Am I the only person who finds this disturbing?…What I mean is the fact that Bush has an obsession with exercise that borders on the creepy.” Add this to Chris Matthews the Media Research Center’s quote of the year with his Obamedia-topping Leg O’ Thrill and Tingle remark and you’ll get the idea if you haven’t already.

Michelle Makin is pissed, and isn’t afraid to talk about it. Ten minutes from Fox & Friends this morning, the first half of which is spent curtsying to Queen Caroline and paying final tribute to Bush’s “better national security through open borders” policy. Skip ahead to 6:00 for the meat of it, a back and forth on the disgraceful, now-rescinded Toussie pardon. Did you know that he’s been out of prison for years now? Or that he pled guilty, freely and fairly, to the charges against him? Or that there’s a class-action suit with 400 plaintiffs stemming from his mortgage chicanery still pending against him in federal court? Or that normal protocol meant his pardon shouldn’t even have been considered until next year? Or the fact that his dad dropped $28,500 on the RNC just eight months ago, a fact discoverable via a routine search on Open Secrets? Somehow this was all either unknown or irrelevant to the White House until after the pardon was issued. No wonder 75 percent say they won’t miss Dubya. Sadly, no questions would she support a pardon for Ramos and Compean?

Was it Saddam’s daughter who secretly funded both the shoe thrower and the bungled coup attempt?

New revelations in Iraq point to a possible link between the shoe thrower and the Iraqi Baathists who just made a botched attempt to topple the government of Nouri al-Maliki and return Saddam’s party to power. According to the Daily Beast, reports in the Arab media indicate that the Iraqi shoe thrower, Muntather al-Zaidi may have been planning his assault on President Bush for more than a year, helped by Iraqi Baathists seeking to overthrow the U.S,-backed government. One leading Arab website said the al-Zaidi’s handlers may have been funded by Raghad, the eldest daughter of former dictator Saddam Hussein. Raghad, who currently lives in self-exile in Jordan, is wanted in Iraq for funding terrorism and for looting billions from state funds on the eve of the 2003 war that toppled her father.
