All the damage Obama is doing to this country can be done at least this year and 2010 before the congressional elections, if the congress changes after the 2010 elections next November, Obama isn’t going to moderate like Clinton did in 1994. So what did Obama tell CNN’s eD Henry? The Kansas City Star has the transcript:

“You know, if – if I feel like I’ve made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we’ve gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I’m in a tough spot, I’ll – I’ll feel all right about myself,” Obama told CNN’s Ed Henry.

“I said to myself very early on, even when I started running for office, I don’t want to be making decisions based on getting re-elected, because I think the challenges that America faces right now are so significant,” the president also said.

“Obviously, if I make those decisions and I think that I’m moving the country on the right direction economically, in terms of our security interests, our foreign policy, I’d like to think that those policies are continued because they’re not going to bear fruit just in four years.”

Before heading back to GDamn America, Obama stopped by Osan Air Base in South Korea and “Greeted” 1,500 troops. While there is still no decision an Afghanistan, and there wouldn’t be at least through Thanksgiving. What did the dither in chief have to say to the 1,500 troops in South Korea?

Rudy Giuliani might not run for Governor of New York

Perhaps Giuliani may be considering taking a run at Kirsten Gillibrand’s senate seat instead? That would benefit the entire country if he could win that. Any Republican running against the clueless David Paterson is going to have a good shot at winning the gubernatorial race. If Hillary decides to run in 2010 instead and ditch Obama, she would probably win no matter who runs against her. It was not clear what prompted the possible decision. But the New York Times (giddy as can be that Giuliani wouldn’t run) suggests the prospect of potentially facing Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, who is quietly planning his own run for governor on the Democratic ticket, may not have appealed Mr. Giuliani.

Maria Comella, a spokeswoman for Mr. Giuliani, said Wednesday that it was “premature” to say any decisions had been made, and cited the former mayor’s statements on television last weekend.

In an interview with ABC on Sunday, Mr. Giuliani said he had not yet made his decision but said, “I will very soon.”

Those told of the decision spoke on condition of anonymity, because they did not want to speak publicly ahead of Mr. Giuliani.

The decision will be a boon to other Republican contenders. So far, Rick Lazio, a former congressman from Long Island, is the only declared candidate on the Republican side. Another much discussed potential contender is Chris Collins, the Erie County executive.

Rumors starting circuling that the fight would be at the new Yankee Stadium this coming spring. Others such as co-owner of the New York Giants (who play in New Jersey) Steve Tisch, co-owner of the Giants wanted the fight in Giants Stadium. The New York Mets owner also wanted to land the fight for the newly opened Citi Field. But too bad for New Yorkers and New Jersey”ers” Bob Arum slammed the door on the idea according to Newsday:

“No chance,” Arum said. “Nothing would please me more than to have it at Yankee Stadium, but the way the tax structure in New York is set up, it’s impossible.”

But that’s not the worst news. The front-runner to host the bout, proposed for early May or June 2010, is – gulp! – Cowboys Stadium, Jerry Jones’ $1 billion-plus, retractable-roof football palace that makes Yankee Stadium look like a sandlot.

“As a lifelong Giants fan, how can you do this?” Tisch said to Arum, a longtime friend to Bob Tisch, Steve’s late father, when he found out the fight was likely to wind up in the home of one of his team’s most-hated rivals.

The answer is, no state taxes in Texas and a ton of them in New York and New Jersey. According to Arum, the fighters could lose more than $12 million in taxes if the fight takes place in New York and slightly less if it winds up in the Meadowlands.

Arum said that between New York State and city taxes and a tax levied on nonresident independent contractors performing in New York, the fighters – and the promoter – would lose 15 percent of all revenue generated by the bout.

“It’s just not economically feasible to do events like that in New York,” Arum said. “It’s ridiculous, really.”

10 states face imminent bankruptcy

Most everyone has heard about California teetering on bankruptcy, but 10 states? Its true according to World Net Daily. Those ten states (including California) include, Arizona, Rhode Island, Michigan, Oregon, Nevada, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois and Wisconsin. Hmm. Notice something with these states? Yes! Liberal controlled states! Arizona may have two “Republican” senators, but with one of them being John McCain, and their previous governor being Janet Napolitano, that should be all the info you need to know. California’s state House is of course 2-1 Democrat and Arnold Schwarzenegger is really a Shriver. Florida of course has RINO extreme Charlie Christ as governor.

World Net Daily also reports that the American Bankruptcy Institute reported personal bankruptcies surged 9 percent in October, with a 7 percent jump in business bankruptcies. Total bankruptcies in 2009 are expected to top 1.4 million, an increase of 30 percent from last year and the highest level since 2005.

The National Governors Association has reported state revenues across the nation were down 11.7 and 16.6 percent in the first two quarters of 2009, respectively.

The study further observed that state revenues will not return to 2008 levels in real dollar terms until fiscal year 2014, under the most favorable assumptions that the economy has already begun a slow and largely jobless recovery.

Red Alert reports that among the most severe problems facing the states is the outstanding liability of about $2.73 trillion in employee retirement, health and other benefits coming due over the next several decades, of which more than $271 billion is unfunded.

The National Governors Association presented the reality that “it will take states nearly a decade to fully emerge from the current recession.”

“The truth is that the recovery period could be even longer if the bankruptcy and unemployment picture does not improve,” Corsi wrote.

Just last week, Red Alert reported that the real unemployment number, including those who have dropped out of the labor force because they have become discouraged after looking for a job for a year or longer, was 22.1 percent for October 2009, not the 10.2 percent reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Budget crises mean cuts in welfare, benefits to illegals

As Red Alert has reported, Tom Blumer at NewsBusters has produced statistics that show California is in a welfare crisis, especially as unemployment in May rose to 11.5 percent.

Blumer produced charts to demonstrate that California has “chronically failed to do anything meaningful about its welfare population since 2002.”

As of Sept. 30, 2008, California with 12 percent of the nation’s population had a disproportionate 32 percent of the nation’s welfare recipients, up from 22 percent only six years earlier.

The incidence of California residents on welfare is almost three and a half times that of the rest of the country, Corsi noted.

More than 15 million may have to repay part of Obama’s “Tax Credit”

The actual journalism is still going today, at a startling rate. This latest gem comes from the AP that is reporting that over 15 million taxpayers could unexpectedly owe taxes when they file their federal returns next spring because the government was too generous with their new Making Work Pay tax credit. Taxpayers are at risk if they have more than one job, are married and both spouses work, or receive Social Security benefits while also earning taxable wages, according to a report Monday by the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration.

The tax credit, which is supposed to pay individuals up to $400 and couples up to $800, was President Barack Obama’s signature tax break in the massive stimulus package enacted in February.

Most workers started receiving the credit through small increases in their paychecks in April. The tax credit was made available through new withholding tables issued by the Internal Revenue Service.

The withholding tables, however do not take into account taxpayers with multiple jobs or married couples in which both people work. They also don’t take into account Social Security recipients with jobs that provided taxable income.

The Social Security Administration sent out $250 payments to more than 50 million retirees in the spring as part of the economic stimulus package. The payments were meant to provide a boost for people who didn’t’ qualify for the tax credit.

However, they went to many retirees who also received the credit. Those retirees will have the $250 payment deducted from their tax credit—— but not until they file their tax returns next year, long after the money may have been spent.

“While implementing a credit through reduced withholding is an effective way to provide economic stimulus evenly throughout the year, it is difficult to account for everyone’s circumstances,” said J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. “More than 10 percent of all taxpayers who file individual tax returns for 2009 could owe additional taxes.”

The tax credit is also available for 2010. Russell said the problems will continue in 2010 if they are not resolved.

Obama now claims himself to be “America’s first Pacific president,” promising the nations of Asia “a new era of engagement with the world based on mutual interests and mutual respect.” He also wasted no time trashing and apologizing for America, as is typical for his overseas trips (from Politico):

According to anonymous Obama official, bowing to kings and emperors is protocol now

No U.S. President in history has bowed before anyone, well all except the 44th which has now bowed THREE times. Once to the muslim Saudi King, and to the Emperor of Japan AND his wife. Bill Clinton in 1994 was slammed by the media and especially the New York times for ALMOST bowing to Japan Emperor Akihito. But according to one cowardly Obama senior administration official who refuses to disclose his name to Politico, Obama was simply observing protocol when he bowed to Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. Exactly, WHAT protocol is there for an American President to bow before ANYONE? According to the “anonymous” senior official (who i’m willing to bet was either Axelrod, Emanuel, or Gibbs), these bows are simply being “politicized”. I’ll wait for the Fox News blame next.

Obama perfected the art of bowing to Saudi King Abdullah, does it again for Emperor Akihito of Japan

Well at least Emperor Akihito isn’t some muslim oil king, that liberals all over the placed complained about when Dubya kissed him (btw, so did Obama in his visit to the middle east this year). American Presidents DO NOT bow to anyone, including the Emperor of Japan. But yet again Obama has embarrassed America. You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? This picture posted by Gateway Pundit says more than a thousand.

How low will the new American president go for the world’s royalty?

This photo will get Democrat President Obama a lot of approving nods in Japan this weekend, especially among the older generation of Japanese who still pay attention to the royal family living in its downtown castle. Very low bows like this are a sign of great respect and deference to a superior.

To some in the United States, however, an upright handshake might have looked better. Remember Michelle Obama casually patting Britain’s Queen Elizabeth on the back during their Buckingham Palace visit? America’s royalty tends to make movies and get bad reviews and lots of money as a sign of respect.

Obama could receive some frowns back home as he did for his not-quite-this-low-or-maybe-about-the-same-bow to the Saudi king not so long ago.

Akihito, who turns 76 next month, is the eldest son and fifth child of Emperor Showa, the name given to an emperor and his reign after his death.

And to any liberal who wants to attempt to defend this latest bow, lets take a tri back in time to 1994 when the New York Times blasted then President Bill Clinton for “almost” bowing to Akihito. Of course ole Billy was too busy going down on White House interns instead.

It wasn’t a bow, exactly. But Mr. Clinton came close. He inclined his head and shoulders forward, he pressed his hands together. It lasted no longer than a snapshot, but the image on the South Lawn was indelible: an obsequent President, and the Emperor of Japan.

Canadians still bow to England’s Queen; so do Australians. Americans shake hands. If not to stand eye-to-eye with royalty, what else were 1776 and all that about? But Mr. Clinton, alas, is not the only one since George Washington who has seemed not quite to know what to make of monarchs.

There was that curtsy, during the Reagan years, when Lenore Annenberg, herself the chief of protocol, forgot herself entirely and did a little dip to greet a visiting Prince Charles. That prompted a stern warning from Miss Manners against those who might mock the effort that “was once put into freeing Americans from the necessity of bending their knees.” Soon afterward, when Nancy Reagan greeted Queen Elizabeth II behind closed doors, her press secretary acknowledged that Mrs. Reagan had bowed her head but insisted, “It was definitely not a curtsy.”

With the imperial visit last week, official Washington was clearly determined to show that it knew well what courtesies should be showered on the 175th inheritor of the most formal throne on earth.

Guests invited to a white-tie state dinner at the White House (a Clinton Administration first) were instructed to address the Emperor as “Your Majesty,” not “Your Highness” or, worse, “King.” And in what one Administration aide called “some emperor thing,” an Army general was cautioned that he should not address the Emperor Akihito at all as he escorted him to the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.

But the “thou need not bow” commandment from the State Department’s protocol office maintained a constancy of more than 200 years. Administration officials scurried to insist that the eager-to-please President had not really done the unthinkable.

“It was not a bow-bow, if you know what I mean,” said Ambassador Molly Raiser, the chief of protocol.

11/17/09 – A senior administration official called the bow to Emperor Akihito a “sign of respect,” adding that the depth of the bow reflected “the level of respect.” according to Politico.

“This is part of what the president says all the time — that he wants to be mindful of other cultures,” the official said. “That doesn’t take anything away from our culture.”

Similarly, officials professed to be unworried about the possibility of Obama being photographed with the leader of Myanmar (the former Burma), even though a photo with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had caused an uproar last spring. It turned out that Obama did shake hands with the prime minister, Gen. Thein Sein, during a leaders’ meeting of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations. In the past, the U.S. has skipped such meetings in order to avoid consorting with Myanmar.

Obama again fails to salute Americans but remembers to salute Russian flag

Atlas Shrugs (Pamela Geller’s site) has revealed the latest pic of Obama refusing to salute Americans. Originally thought to be from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia to mark Veterans Day, November 11, 2009. The in fact this was from Memorial day 2009.

This is quite the contrast from Obama in Russia during the playing of the Russian National Anthem

Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn accuse Billary of ‘white supremacy’

Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign for the Democrat nomination deliberately appealed to white supremacy, fear and anxiety, says longtime Obama terrorist pals and Bill Ayers and wife, Bernardine Dohrn. In a co-authored article in the socialist Monthly Review magazine, the two radicals argued last year’s national elections had “racist” undertones and that President Obama’s ascent to power can be used to “build a new society.” According to World Net Daily:

“[Hillary] Clinton flagrantly appealed to white voters’ identity as ‘workers’ or ‘women’ – offering white people any reason to vote against Obama without saying he’s black – and followed the ancient and dismal road of racial discourse that appeals to white supremacy, fear and anxiety,” wrote Ayers and Dohrn.

The two referenced a New York Times opinion piece by feminist activist Gloria Steinem, “Women are Never Front-Runners,” written on the eve of the New Hampshire primary. Steinem argued the gender barrier had not yet been broken and asked, “Why is the sex barrier not taken as seriously as the racial one?

Ayers and Dohrn charged Steinem had asserted a “superior victim status on the part of white, powerful women.”

The duo went on to claim the 2008 presidential elections had racist undertones.

“The invisible race talk was about ‘blue collar’ or ‘working class’ or ‘mainstream’ or ’small town’ or ‘hockey mom’ or ‘Joe the plumber,’ but we were meant to think ‘white,’” they wrote.

Continued Ayers and Dohrn: “All the talk of Senator Barack Obama’s exotic background, all the references to him as ‘unknown, ‘untested,’ a ’stranger,’ or a ’symbolic candidate,’ or ‘alien,’ a ‘wildcard,”‘or an ‘elitist.’ … The discourse was all about race, us and them, understood by everyone in the United States even when the words African American, black or white are not spoken.”

The couple, however, took pride in Obama’s win.

They said Obama’s presidency “calls for us to have to agitate for democracy and egalitarianism, press harder for human rights, link the demands that animate us, and learn to build a new society through our collective self-transformations and our limited everyday struggles.

“We must seek ways to live sustainably; to stop the addiction to consumption and development and military power; to become real actors and authentic subjects in our own history,” they wrote.

The two added, “Now their experience can be put to use mobilizing those same people to insist on the changes they imagined.”

Ayers became a name in last year’s presidential campaign when it was disclosed the radical worked closely with Obama for years.

Ayers, and his wife, Dohrn, were two of the main founders of the Weather Underground, which bombed the New York City Police headquarters in 1970, the Capitol in 1971 and the Pentagon in 1972. The group was responsible for some 30 bombings aimed at destroying the defense and security infrastructures of the U.S.

Characterizing Weathermen as “an American Red Army,” Ayers summed up the organization’s ideology: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents.”

“Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon,” Ayers recalled in his 2001 memoir, “Fugitive Days.” “The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.”

Maoist Anita Dunn’s husband Bob Bauer replaces Greg Craig as White House Counsel

As has been rumored for about a week now, it now becomes official. Maoist Anita Dunn’s husband Robert “Bob” Bauer replaces Greg Craig as White House Counsel because of a dispute over plans to close the U.S. military prison in Cuba, according to CNN. Greg Craig declined to comment and hung up when reached by CNN late Thursday evening, obviously not too pleased.

The move will be announced by the White House in the coming days, a senior administration official and a senior Democratic source confirmed. The sources said it could be announced as early as Friday while the president will be in Japan starting a four-nation tour of Asia, which would make it likely the staff change will be overshadowed by other events.

Craig declined to comment and hung up when reached by CNN late Thursday evening.

Bauer is the husband of Anita Dunn, the outgoing White House communications director. Dunn, who recently led a so-called “war” on Fox News, announced earlier this week that she is leaving her White House post, a long-anticipated move that was not connected to the media battle.

Democratic officials said Craig was ousted because of frustration among senior White House aides over his handling of the plans to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. As the White House’s top lawyer, Craig was pivotal in advising Obama to sign an executive order during his first week in office promising to shut the prison by the end of January 2010.

In a politically embarrassing move that has frustrated some of the president’s liberal supporters, White House aides have since backed off that deadline, citing complex legal issues surrounding what to do with the approximately 200 terror suspects still detained at Guantanamo.

Some administration officials privately believe Craig should have better anticipated the pitfalls. However, his supporters believe he is being used as a scapegoat and note he was not the only top official who supported the ironclad executive order.

One of the Democratic officials acknowledged Craig’s tenure had been a “little choppy,” but downplayed the exit as part of the normal turnover in any administration after nearly one year in office.

Craig was one of the lawyers defending then-President Bill Clinton during his impeachment trial. He became an early and active supporter of Obama in the Democratic presidential primaries, angering backers of then-Sen. Hillary Clinton. That is one of the reasons why allies of Craig are frustrated he is being replaced so early in the administration.

But Democratic sources said Craig never clicked with senior White House aides, and Bauer is a low-key, behind-the-scenes operator more in Obama’s comfort zone.

Bauer was the chief attorney during the campaign, and will be leaving the law firm of Perkins Coie, a Seattle-based firm that has an office in Washington, D.C. There has been speculation that administration officials have been trying to find a federal judgeship or ambassadorial post for Craig, but officials said he may return to the law firm of Williams & Connolly.
