Boehner’s debt plan: Cut $3 trillion raise the debt ceiling in two stages

john-boehnerUnlike the smoke and mirrors proposed by Dingy Harry Reid and the radical Democrats, The House GOP and Boehner’s debt plan is much better.  This plan also doesn’t include tax increases, but would raise the debt ceiling by $1 trillion. According to CNN, this would allow the Treasury to continue borrowing through February or March of 2012. The cuts would be $1.2 trillion this year, and $1.8 trillion next year for the $3 trillion total.

Who do you trust more to handle the economy? 10% more polled trust Republicans over extremist Democrats

democrat-baby-logoThe last time Rasmussen conducted this poll back in May, the gap was only 4% at 46% to 42% as to who people trust more to handle the economy. Since then with all of Obama’s tantrums and the radical Democrats refusal to agree to cut, the difference has swelled to a 10% difference. 45% trust Republicans more when it comes to handling economic issues, while a piddly 35% trust in Democrats. In fact, the poll conducted asks respondents who they trust more on 10 key issues facing the country Republicans win 9 out of the 10.

Herman Cain Raises $2.48 million but loses campaign staffers Tina Goff and Kevin Hall

rnc-logoGood news/bad news for Herman Cain. He raised $2.48 million which places him behind RINO Romney, RINO Pawlenty, and media darling Jon Huntsman. Of course the media love child Huntsman contributed $2 illion of his own money to his campaign to inflate his numbers, so in essence Cain did as well, if not better than Huntsman. But there was also bad news for Cain. According to Hot Air, Cain’s Iowa Director, Tina Goff has submitted her resignation and Kevin Hall who was Cain’s straw poll coordinator has left.

Mitch Daniels NOT running for President due to “family concerns”

rnc-logoI guess Mitch Daniels’ wife wouldn’t allow him to run for President. Matt Mackowiak broke the news on Twitter.

BREAKING: In an urgent email, Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN) has announced he will NOT run for President.

Machowiak is a GOP consultant and managed winning 2010 Bill Flores campaign in TX-17 last November. So he’s not just some random anonymous hack. Daniels cites “family concerns” in an e-mail sent to supporters as the reason why he isn’t running for the Presidency.

John Ensign to resign – Dean Heller likely to replace

rnc-logoHit the road horndog John Ensign! John Ensign is expected to resign from the U.S. Senate on Friday April 22nd. Nevada has a couple of really winners for Senators. Harry Reid and John Ensign. Harry Reid’s stupidity has been reported on for years as he won re-election with the help of the corrupt union thugs in Nevada last year. John Ensign would have been up for re-election in 2012, and had already announced he wouldn’t run for another term (not like he could have won anyway.) John Ensign is of course the one who admitted to having an affair with a campaign aide a few years ago.

House Republicans passes three week CR, continue to allow for funding of ObamaCARE

crybaby-boehnerThe GOP leadership in the House is yet again proving they aren’t up to the job. Just like during the Bush years when they had controll for six years, the first year of the GOP House is pitiful, cowardly, and refuses to tackle the big issues. Eric Cantor even admited to CNSNEWS that this new CR will allow for the funding of the $105 BILLION hidden in the ObamaCARE bill passed last year. Remember when Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass the bill to see what’s in it? There’s something that’s in it the cowardly Republicans wouldn’t deal with.

Dumb New York Republican Rep Christopher Lee resigns after Craigslist shirtless photo flap

rnc-logoHere we go again with the idiot Republicans that caused them to lose the House and Senate in 2006. Christopher Lee who was in his first term in the House and elected in November to represent New York’s 26th congressional district has resigned after reports of a “shirtless” photo of himself was sent out to Craigslist to woman. Oh btw, Lee is married. Yet again, the wonderful “Republican family values” are on full display. Gawker posted the photo that Lee “allegedly” sent out on Craigslist. Christopher Lee allegedy said about himself on Craigslist:

“I’m a very fit, fun classy guy”

Michael Steele out as RNC Chairman – Steele 2.0 Reince Priebus new chairman

rnc-logoOn the bright side, Michael Steele lost and Maria Cino the Dede Scozzafava clone didn’t win and become ChairWoman of the RNC. On the bad side Reince Priebus aka Michael Steele 2.0 won, and becomes the new chairman of the RNC. All I can say is barf. Priebus was the Wisconsin Republican party chairman.

Tom Delay to dance with the stars in jail for three years

rnc-logoYou do the crime, you pay for your crime. That’s exactly what Tom Delay will be doing for the next three years for his roll in a money laundering scheme. See, unlike Democrats who will defend their own no matter how corrupt they are (like Charlie Rangel), there is no way I will defend Delay, or any other Republican who is found guilty of a crime. From Fox News:

Four Democrats vote yes for Obama repeal test vote, two Republicans vote present

doc-obama-this-is-gonna-hurtAgain, don’t be fooled by the so called “conservative” Democrats. There is no such thing anymore. There are over 20 Democrats left in the 112th Congress that voted NO on the original ObamaCARE bill, yet only four of them voted yes during today’s test vote. Two Republicans,  pulled an Obama and voted “present.” The two “Republicans” voting present were Rep. Pete Sessions (Texas) and Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania). These were the same two who skipped Wednesday’s official swearing-in ceremony by sitting in the Capitol Visitors Center.

Thank god! The 111th congress is finally done!

nancy-pelosi-celebrateIn what will go down in the history book as the worst congress in U.S. history, the 111th Congress is finally finished. The damage has been done. From weakening America’s defenses, taking over the auto industry, banks, and health care, to the failed porkulus bill, the 111th Congress leaves America with $3 trillion in new debt over just under a two year period. The 110th Congress was nearly as bad under dubya Bush giving us $2 trillion in new debt (controlled by Pelosi and Reid.) The new 112th Congress will begin on January 5th, 2011. According to Bloomberg, this Congress made more law affecting more Americans since the “Great Society” legislation of the 1960s.

For the first time ever in Rasmussen polling more people identifying themselves as Republicans than Democrats

rnc-logoMy how times changes. Two years ago after Obama won the presidency and Republicans got slaughtered for a second year in a row in congressional races, the progressive liberal media declared the GOP party dead. Some nuts on the left even made a new logo for the GOP of a dinosaur implying that the Republicans were an extinct party. Now, after Republicans had a historic 63 seat gain in the House, and Obama’s re-election in 2012 on the ropes, suddenly more people are identifying themselves as Republicans than Democrats. The is the first time in Rasmussen’s polling history this has occurred, and they have been polling in 2004. In November 2010, 36.0% of American Adults identified themselves as Republicans; 34.7% considered themselves Democrats, and 29.3% were not affiliated with either major party aka independents.

Another point worth noting is that the GOP has the edge today partly because the number of Democrats is barely above the lowest level ever recorded in eight years of monthly tracking by Rasmussen Reports. This supports the conclusion that Election 2010 was less a victory for the Republicans than a defeat for the Democrats.

Eight Republicans vote with Senate Democrats to reject earmark ban

rino-republicansAs was the case with the 15 Republicans who voted with the Democrats earlier today on the “Food Safety Act”, giving the FDA even more power than they already needed, Seven Republicans voted with Democrats to reject the ban on earmarks. The Republicans who vote to reject the earmark ban included outgoing RINO from Utah Bob Bennett. You remember him? He threw a tantrum about being primaried. The rest included: Jim Inhofe, Thad Cochran, Lisa Murkowski, George Voinovich, Susan Collins, Richard Shelby, and Dick Lugar.

Tom DeLay convicted of money laundering – faces up to life in prison

I don’t care what one’s political party is, you do the crime, you need to do the time. That’s exactly what former U.S. Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is going to do. According to Fox News, jurors deliberated for 19 hours before reaching guilty verdicts against Tom DeLay on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. DeLay nowfaces up to life in prison. Forgive me if I have no sympathy for the man.

California Rep. Kevin McCarthy elected House Majority whip for 112th Congress

kevin-mccarthyKevin McCarthy is from one of the few parts of California that isn’t ruined by San Francisco style progressive liberalism. Representing California’s 22nd district (Bakersfield), the Kevin McCarthy will become the GOP’s House Majority WHIP in the 112th Congress. Here is what McCarthy had to say:

“It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to serve my colleagues as the Majority Whip,” McCarthy stated in a press release. “I believe that together we can usher in the era of America’s comeback through hard work and a strong commitment to our conservative principles.”

Eric Cantor elected House Majority Leader

eric-cantorAnother no surprise. Eric Cantor has been elected the House Majority Leader for the 112th Congress. Cantor ran unopposed. According to The Hill, newly elected congressman Tim Scott, gave Cantor’s nomination speech. The nomination was seconded by West Virginia Republican Rep. Shelley Moore-Capito. Eric Cantor is also the first Jewish  House Majority leader. Obviously Democrats are biased against Jews for never having one in this position.

John Boehner unanimously elected Speaker of the House on his 61st birthday

john-boehnerUnlike the drama that played out on the Democrat side electing Nancy Pelosi as Democrat House Minority Leader, there was no drama in electing the Speaker of the House for the 112th Congress. Today, John Boehner was unanimously elected Speaker of the House. It came at a nice time for him, his 61st birthday. Since all the tan and smoking jokes by Obama and the rest of the progressive liberals failed, maybe they can start mocking his age now. In what must have been a really painful piece to write, the New York Times has what he said upon being elected:

Owned! Mitch McConnell to support Jim DeMint’s earmark ban

mitch_mcconnellEither Mitch McConnell finally came to his senses, or he realizes that if he doesn’t stop being a Republican porker, he could very well be primaried in 2012. For weeks Mitch McConnell resisted calls for the earmark ban, claiming “they were just a small part of the overall spending.” That didn’t sit well with people. Today, on the Senate floor, McConnell suddenly made a complete about face (from Fox News):

For the first time since Reconstruction Louisiana Republicans control the state legislature as former Democrat Walker Hines switches parties

rnc-logoState Democrats in Louisiana are jumping the sinking ship too! Walter Hines, a 26 year old member of the Louisiana state legislation has switched parties from Democrat to Republican. Hines is only 26 and obviously knows that if he wants to prolong his political future, he’d better jump off the sinking ship. With Hines party switch, this gives Republicans the majority in the Louisiana state House. Why is this significant? Because (according to American Thinker) this is the first time since the end of Reconstruction that the Louisiana Democratic Party will no longer control the state legislature. Walker Hines (District 95-New Orleans) who announced he is switching parties issued the following statement (via Dead Pelican):
