Harry Reid’s wife Landra Reid and daughter Lana Reid seriously injured in car accident

I am obviously not a fan of Harry Reid. Actually, I can’t even stand the man. However, I would never wish ill will on him, or his family. So the news that his wife Landra Reid and daughter Lana Reid were seriously injured in a car accident today is not something I am happy to post about. There will obviously be some that will cheer this news, but I simply refuse to sink to that level. According to Politico, Landra Reid, suffered a broken neck, back and nose and his daughter, Lana Reid, also sustained serious injuries in a chain-reaction car accident in Fairfax, Va. on Thursday  according to Reid’s spokesman.

Today is a good day in America, ONLY 36,000 lost their jobs today according to Harry Reid

reid-grimTurns out 36,000 jobs were lost in the month of February. “Better than expected” numbers. What everyone fails to mention is that the Census Department added 15,000 temporary jobs for the month, and the number of “discouraged workers” also rose. But never mind that. The country has now lost 136,000 over the last 3 months, and the unemployment rate mysteriously has dropped 0.3% to 9.7%. Today was a good day according to Harry Reid. Since “only” 36,000 jobs were lost for the month of February, Harry Reid said this:

“Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good.”

Hypocrite Harry Reid’s filibuster flip flop

idiot_harry_reidRemember back in 2005 when Harry Reid considered the filibuster far from a procedural gimmick. It’s part of the fabric of this institution we call the Senate. The right to extend a debate is never more important than when one party controls congress. Remember when Harry Reid and the Democrats were so in favor of this? The filibuster serves as a check on power and preserves our limited government. Another classic Harry Reid quote from 2005: “The filibuster prevents a Senator from ramming through legislation that only has the support of the minority.”. Fast foward to 2010. The filibuster is evil! We must do away with it! Times, they are a changin’

Harry Reid rejects bipartisan jobs bill endorsed by Obama

idiot_harry_reidMaybe the originally planned “Jobs” bill, aka Porkulus 2.0 didn’t have enough “Negro Dialect” for Harry Reid. Why else then would Harry Reid scrap a bipartisan jobs bill that had been unveiled hours earlier and had been endorsed by the White House? According to The Daily Caller, Reid said that he would not introduce a bill made public Thursday morning by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, Montana Democrat, and ranking committee member Sen. Charles Grassley, Iowa Republican.

MLK Jr.’s Niece Alveda King isn’t impressed with Al Sharpton and the Congressional Black Caucus’s defense of racist Harry Reid

idiot_harry_reidAlveda King is Martin Luther King’s niece. While the Al Sharpton, the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP all jumped to the defense of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid after his racist remarks about Obama, Alveda King found the racist “negro dialect” remarks “sadly outrageous.” According to Fox News:

George Stephanopoulos complains Harry Reid’s ‘No Negro dialect’ comment was supposed to be “private”

idiot_harry_reidDemocrats will do anything to try and “save face”. In this case, George Stephanopoulos, Democrat shill on ABC complained that the now infamous Harry Reid comment about Obama having “No Negro Dialect unless he needed to” in the book Game Change was supposed to be “private”. Hey George! There are a lot of things that are meant to be private! Tiger Woods is a great example! Newsbusters has the complete exchange containing the “privacy issue” with Stephanopoulos and another ABC liberal, Kate Snow.

Tim Kaine, Dianne Feinstein, Jon Kyl, Liz Cheney and other’s reactions to racist Harry Reid’s ‘no Negro dialect’ on the Sunday news shows

democrat-logoAs you would expect, liberals such as Dianne Feinstein and Tim Kaine had no problem with Harry Reid’s racists comments about Obama in 2008. The ‘No Negro Dialect’ slur is all fine and dandy for these liberals, as long as a liberal of their own says such a thing. Michael Steele for once didn’t embarass himself or the GOP on national TV and actually made the valid point that had Mitch McConnell or any other Republican made this same slur, Obama and the Democrats in Congress (along with the press) would be calling for his head. The Politico video below shows the various reactions on the Sunday news talk shows:

Michael Steele Calls For Harry Reid to Step Down

For a change today. Michael Steele didn’t put his foot in his mouth.Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Steele called for Harry Reid to step down as Senate Majority Leader after Reid’s racist statements about Obama were revealed this weekend, and due to be published in the book “Game Changer”. Politico has the summary and the video is also below:

Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele Sunday called on Majority Leader Harry Reid to step down as majority leader, becoming the first high-profile Republican to make such a call after the Nevada senator apologized for his assessment of Barack Obama as a “light-skinned” African-American who lacked a “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

“The reality of it is this, there is this standard where Democrats feel they can say these things and apologize as long as it comes from one of their own,” Steele said on “Fox News Sunday,” equating Reid’s comments with the racially charged ones that led to the outster of Former Republican Leader Trent Lott. “And if it comes from somebody else, it’s racism.”

“Remember this is a leader who only a few weeks ago was using the context of slavery to talk about health care,” said Steele, the first African American head of the RNC. “It’s an old mindset when you are using language in 2008 that harkens back to the 1950s.”

Al Sharpton backs Harry Reid and his racist comments

alsharptonWhat a shock! A liberal says racists comments and a famous race baiter like Al Sharpton has no problemo with them. Don Imus, Trent Lott, well that’s a different story. Politico has Sharpton’s response to the ‘light skinned’ and ‘no Negro dialect’ racist remarks by Harry Reid:

I have learned of certain unfortunate comments made by Senator Reid regarding President Barack Obama and have spoken with Senator Reid about those comments. While there is no question that Senator Reid did not select the best word choice in this instance, these comments should not distract America from its continued focus on securing healthcare or creating jobs for its people. Nor should they detract from the unquestionable leadership role Senator Reid has played on these issues or in the area of civil rights. Senator Reid’s door has always been open on hearing from the civil rights community on these issues and I look forward to continue to work with Senator Reid wherever possible to improve the lives of Americans everywhere.

Racist Harry Reid apologies for ‘light skinned’ ‘no Negro dialect’ comment made about Obama in 2008

idiot_harry_reidWhen liberals are racist, it sure gets hushed up. Had any conservative called Obama ‘light skinned’ and made the remark that he has ‘no Negro dialect’ I wonder what the reaction would have been from the liberal press, and flaming liberals on the ‘net? Apparently though, its ok for the Harry Reid to make such remarks, since he’s a Democrat. And I’m sure ex KKK member Robert Byrd (Democrat Senator of West Virigina) got all warm and fuzzy inside. Realizing that this is yet another thing that could come back to bite him in the ass before the November elections, Reid was forced to apologize for these remarks that he made about Obama, in 2008! Oh also, there’s a little thing about these remarks being in a book that the AP got their grubby little hands on today that forced the apology.

Another dirty Harry Reid trick: 67 votes – the super-majority will be need to ever repeal Obamacare

reid-grimAs the days go by, and the bits of pieces of the 2,700+ page Harry Reid/Senate/ObamaCARE monstrosity seep out into the public people are going to realize even more than they already have, what a disaster they created with the past two elections. The latest gem discovered by RedState is from the Senate version of ObamaCARE voted on for cloture along a purely party line vote. Basically Harry Reid decided to add a last second amendment to the bill that changes the rules of the United States Senate.

Harry Reid asks for weekend off – To attend a Fundraiser with his Louisiana Purchase Mary Landrieu

reid-grimHarry Reid, who so desperately wants to get the ObamaCARE bill finished by Christmas, is now urging Republicans on the Senate floor to forego a debate on several conference reports this weekend in order to give Senators and staffers the weekend off. You know they work so hard in the Senate and all. Here’s dingy Harry’s quote from ABC:

“I understand the Republican leader doesn’t want us to do health care. I appreciate that. He and I have different positions on that,” said Reid. “I see no reason to punish everybody this weekend and I hope the minority will give strong consideration to the proposal that i’ve made.”

A little history lesson for Harry Reid

reid-grimHistorians are begining to fault dingy Harry Reid’s curious reference to the Senate civil rights debates of the 1960s. Liberals almost must have forgotten how it was a Democrat who assassinated Harvey Milk. Also according to the Wall Street Journal, Liberals and Democrats tend to forget that it was Southern Democrats who mounted an 83-day filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Bill. The final vote to cut off debate saw 29 Senators in opposition, 80% of them Democrats. Among those voting to block the civil rights bill was West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd, who personally filibustered the bill for 14 hours. The next year he also opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Mr. Byrd still sits in the Senate, and indeed preceded Mr. Reid as his party’s majority leader until he stepped down from that role in 1989. You know, the same Robert Byrd who was a proud member of the KKK? The same Robert Byrd wrote a letter in 1946 to the group’s Imperial Wizard stating “The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia.” Byrd defended the Klan in his 1958 U.S. Senate campaign when he was 41 years old.

Harry Reid compares those opposed to ObamaCARE to slavery supporters

reid-grimIsn’t it ironic when a member of the political party that was the party of slavery, the party of the assassin of Harvey Milk, and the party who has a 90 year old Senator from West Virginia who was a KKK member plays the slavery card? Democrats were the biggest supporters of slavery. All you have to do is look to Robert Byrd to see the true face of the KKK. The good news is, Reid is probably toast in 2010. Anyway, after Obama’s little “pep” talk to the Democrats ONLY this past weekend, Harry Reid decided to compare health care reform to slavery.

Harry Reid looking like toast for 2010 – byebye Dingy!

Either Republican Danny Tarkanian or Sue Lowden would knock out Reid in a general election, according to a recent poll of Nevada voters posted in the Las Vegas Review Journal:

The results suggest the Democratic Senate majority leader will have to punch hard and often in order to retain his position as the most accomplished politician in state history, in terms of job status.

Nevadans favored Tarkanian over Reid 49 percent to 38 percent and Lowden over Reid 45 percent to 40 percent, according to the poll.

Reid’s status makes him an icon of the Democratic Party and ties him to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and President Barack Obama, both of whom are losing ground among centrist and right-leaning voters in the country.

Winning “becomes more difficult when you are actually the one having to carry the water for the president,” said Richard Davis, a professor of political science at Brigham Young University in Utah. “He (Reid) has got to get something out of the Obama administration that he can claim as his own.”

Stay Classy Harry Reid – Bush Is Kind of a “Bitch” Like His Mother Barbara

On Tuesday, Senate majority leader and dirtbag Harry Reid threw a book party. His memoir, The Good Fight: Hard Lessons from Searchlight to Washington, just came out in paperback, and to celebrate the occasion the Nevada senator held a fundraiser at Caesar’s Palace, with such “lavish” guests as Barack Hussein Obama. Heres a snippet from the National Review:

Of course, Reid doesn’t always have nice things to say himself. While no one expects Reid to praise George W. Bush, the degree to which he is judgmental and catty regarding the former president pretty much speaks for itself. Three pages in, after lamely trying to establish his bipartisan bona fides by talking up George H. W. Bush, Reid shares this charming anecdote about his early days in the Senate: “[Former Texas senator and vice-presidential candidate Lloyd] Bentsen went on and on effusively about what a quality man President-elect [H. W.] Bush was. Then he paused and said, ‘But watch out for his wife; she’s a bitch.’ I have never had anything against Mrs. Bush, but guided by Bentsen’s crude advice, I’ve always said that our forty-third president is more his mother than his dad.”
