Krugman then goes on to call former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and as usual George W. Bush “faked hereos.” You would think that the New York Slimes would be loaded up with comments in reaction to slug Krugman’s article right? Nope. The coward Krugman has blocked all comments to his article. Typical progressive liberal. Can’t face the criticism.

Update 8/24/11: Seems the Google+ account was a fake or a parody after all. Krugman claims at his New York Times blog that it wasn’t him who made the the dumb statements about the earthquake. He also made another rather odd claim though:

So if you see me quoted as saying something really stupid or outrageous, and it didn’t come from the Times or some other verifiable site, you should probably assume it was a fake.

Does this mean every time he makes stupid or outrageous statements on the Sunday news shows, it’s not really him because it’s on from the Times or a “verifiable site?” Like when he made the claim he hoped space aliens attacked his for bigger economic growth on CNN? I guess that was a fake Paul Krugman too right?

I’m really hoping for what little sanity Paul Krugman has left that his Google+ account was hacked or that the account isn’t really his. Maybe it’s just a parody account. If not how does one explain making a statement on Google+ wishing the east coast earthquake had been bigger and done more damage to help boost economic growth is sane, let alone worthy of a Nobel Prize winning economist? Check out what he (allegedly) wrote on Google+:

People on twitter might be joking, but in all seriousness, we would see a bigger boost in spending and hence economic growth if the earthquake had done more damage.

I don’t know anything about Google+, as I’ve never used it. I don’t know if they have some sort of “verified” feature like Twitter does to prove that the one with the account is really Paul Krugman. After his comments on CNN about hoping for a space alien attack to hit us to spur economic growth, this really doesn’t seem to far fetched to be coming from the “fingers” of Krugman. If this was infact Krugman, he should return his Nobel Prize immediately!

PAUL KRUGMAN, NEW YORK TIMES: Think about World War II, right? That was actually negative social product spending, and yet it brought us out.

I mean, probably because you want to put these things together, if we say, “Look, we could use some inflation.” Ken and I are both saying that, which is, of course, anathema to a lot of people in Washington but is, in fact, what fhe basic logic says.

It’s very hard to get inflation in a depressed economy. But if you had a program of government spending plus an expansionary policy by the Fed, you could get that. So, if you think about using all of these things together, you could accomplish, you know, a great deal.

If we discovered that, you know, space aliens were planning to attack and we needed a massive buildup to counter the space alien threat and really inflation and budget deficits took secondary place to that, this slump would be over in 18 months. And then if we discovered, oops, we made a mistake, there aren’t any aliens, we’d be better –

ROGOFF: And we need Orson Welles, is what you’re saying.

KRUGMAN: No, there was a “Twilight Zone” episode like this in which scientists fake an alien threat in order to achieve world peace. Well, this time, we don’t need it, we need it in order to get some fiscal stimulus.

Wait, I thought these far left nutbags hated the military and wanted to slash defense spending? Such is the mind of the loony left.
