Eric Holder calls terrorist lawyers ‘Patriots’
Two weeks after a conservative group disparaged Justice Department lawyers who previously represented terror suspects, According to Fox News (article by Mike Levine), Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday weighed in for the first time, calling such lawyers “patriots.” SAY WHAT?!
“Those who reaffirm our nation’s most essential and enduring values do not deserve to have their own values questioned,” Holder told a group of lawyers who offer “pro bono,” or voluntary, legal services. “Let me be clear about this: Lawyers who provide counsel for the unpopular are, and should be treated as what they are: patriots.”

House Democrats have asked Third Way, the centrist Democratic think tank, and California Rep. Jane Harman, a leader on intelligence issues in the House, to help lead training sessions on the issue.

Liberals warn Obama against flip-flopping on terror trials
Liberal progressives aren’t happy about the trial balloon floated by Obama about not sending terrorist scum like KSM to the U.S. for trials, and instead doing the right thing by having them go through military tribunals. According to the Daily Caller, libnuts like Glenn Greenwald denounced the proposal, accusing the White House of favoring political expediency over the rule of law. Greenwald compared the decision to the the alleged politicization of the Department of Justice under President Bush and cited several instances in which Obama has reversed his position on national security issues to avoid being labeled soft on terror.
“Although they will try, it will be extremely difficult even for his most devoted loyalists to deny the fundamental cowardice of Barack Obama,” wrote Greenwald. “Even just as a political matter, is there any better way to ensure that Americans will view him as weak than by abandoning one key decision after the next as a result of the slightest pressure? What kind of person could possibly admire a ‘leader’ who does this?”
Another libnut, Ken Gude from the heavily George Soros funded Center of American Progress agreed the trade-off makes little sense for the White House politically or from a legal standpoint.
“The political calculation that caving on the 9/11 trial will ensure or even ease the path to close Guantanamo is deeply flawed. Any deal that would gain Sen. Graham’s support will surely lose many more Democratic votes and I am extremely skeptical that Sen. Graham would be able to bring any other Republicans with him, especially as Sen. McConnell has already telegraphed his political strategy of absolute opposition to Obama’s counterterrorism policies,” Gude said.
The primary source of the liberal anger comes from the belief that Obama would be sacrificing the moral high ground and jeopardizing the country’s standing in the international community.

The commander, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is an Afghan described by American officials as the most significant Taliban figure to be detained since the American-led war in Afghanistan started more than eight years ago. He ranks second in influence only to Mullah Muhammad Omar, the Taliban’s founder and a close associate of Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks. No word yet if he was read his Miranda Rights 50 minutes after being interrogated.

The Feds tracking left wing websites such as Huffington Post for terrorist activity and threats for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics
This is almost too good to check! They are certainly looking in the right places for a change. Gateway Pundit posted that the feds are tracking twitter and several other websites including left wing websites Huffington Post, Informed Comment and even ABC’s The Blotter during the Olympics for information on possible terrorist threats.
The Blotter reported:
The National Operations Center of DHS will watch the web for information, according to the statement, to “provide situational awareness” in the event of natural disaster, an “act of terrorism, or other manmade disaster.”
“The Olympics are a potential target for such events,” said the statement. The statement did not list all web sites and social media that the NOC will monitor, but provided 31 examples, many of them, like the Blotter, sites that cover breaking news, security, or terror.

The Taliban based in Orakzai Agency confirmed on Tuesday that Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Hakeemullah Mehsud is dead, according to DawnNews. Mehsud died on Sunday in Multan after succumbing to injuries received in a drone attack in Shaktoi village.

In a nation of cowards, at least according to Eric Holder, he may be the biggest coward of them all. According to Politico, Attorney General Eric Holder has finally admitted that it was in fact him who made the decision to read the crotch bomber Abdulmutallab his Miranda rights after just 50 minutes of interrogations. Of course Holder much like everyone else in Obama’s adminstration is blaming Bush for doing this.
Only 36% feel the U.S. is safer now than Before 9/11 – the lowest level ever recorded
Since Rasmussen has been polling this question back in 2002, the lowest level ever recorded for this question on those who feel the country is safe from a big terrorist was 37%. In January of 2009 when Obama was inaugurated, 51% of the country felt the country was safe from a big terrorist attack. Now, only 36% of those polled feel safer than before 9/11, an all time record low for the Rasmussen polling question. It only took Obama and his kiss ass approach with Muslim terrorists to cause a 15% swing in the polls.

Susan Collins of all people? While Collins is a ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee and a Republican, she is nearly as left wing as Obama himself. Collins expresses her incredulity that the bomber was interrogated for only 50 minutes before getting his Miranda rights. Sen. Collins says, “The Obama administration appears to have a blind spot when it comes to the War on Terrorism. . . . There’s no other way to explain the irresponsible, indeed dangerous, decision on Abdulmutallab’s interrogation. There’s no other way to explain the inconceivable treatment of him as if he were a common criminal. This charade must stop. Foreign terrorists are enemy combatants and they must be treated as such.
