Chuck Schumer porky amendments

Chuck Schumer says Americans don’t care about all the  porky amendments in the “stimulus bill”.  Is that so Chuck? Last I checked Mr. Schumer, I’m American, and I CARE about my tax dollars going to support these pathetic liberal projects. While debating the Economy Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Schumer drew a firestorm of criticism when he asserted that Americans did not care that ‘porky’ amendments had been inserted into the bill. Said Schumer, “And let me say this to all the chattering classes that so much focus on those little, tiny, yes porky amendments. The American people really don’t care”.

Well, we are all “chattering classes” now. Congressional phones and fax lines have been ringing off the hooks all week with complaints from angry constituents across the country. And just two days after Chuck Schumer declared that no one cares about porky amendments, the taxpayer group Americans for Prosperity delivered 400,000 petitions to the Senate protesting the behemoth bill. Those petitions were signed before the latest details of the House-Senate conference report negotiations had been disclosed—and before any final legislative text had been made available to the general public.

In April of 2009, the whole ‘swine flu’ pandmedic scare started and to hardly anyone’s surprise, it was entirely the GOP’s fault. Since every House Republicans opposed the porkulus, which included funding for pandemic preparations, it’s all their fault! But wait, theres more! Charles Schumky Schumer had this quote (from the New York Post):

“All those little porky things that the House put in, the money for the [National] Mall or the sexually transmitted diseases or the flu pandemic, they’re all out,” Schumer said.

When did Charles Schumer become an evil right-wing extremist?
