There weren’t many polls on the Washington caucuses. This was the first Pacific state to hold a Republican caucus, and it had record turnout from previous years. The polls in Washington flip flopped like Mitt Romney. On February 21st, Rick Santorum was was well ahead of Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. Rick Santorum lead Romney by 11% at 38% to 27%. Ron Paul polled in third at 15% and Newt Gingrich was last at 12%. As the caucus turned out, Mitt Romney won Washington rather easily. Ron Paul again out performed the polls and finished second ahead of Rick Santorum.
